Jan Federico William Bird is a holistic health mentor and regenerative ecological designer, consultant, and educator whose work spans the scale from urban landscapes to large commercial farms and ranches. He had an incredible early childhood growing up on a remote coastal ranch in a desert wilderness on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. Access was by sailboat, and there was no electricity, or neighbors. Jan credits this unique upbringing with launching him into a lifelong mission of harmonizing humanity’s relationship with the Earth.
Jan currently works in California and Mexico developing regenerative production systems for farms and ranches, designing landscapes, and conducting trainings on the principles of ecological soil, plant, animal, and watershed management. Complementing his practice in land stewardship, Jan also works with people as a coach and trainer in holistic health, is a professional translator and interpreter, and delivers sailboats around the western hemisphere.
Jan earned a B.A. in Environmental Science from the Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University. He furthered his education and training by becoming a G3 Certified Professional, is a Certified Permaculture Designer through the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia, and holds a Diploma in Holistic Management from the LIVES Savory Hub in Sonora, Mexico. Jan is an alumni of Darren Doherty’s REX training on the Regrarians Platform and has also completed trainings in Urban Watershed and Green Infrastructure Design with the Watershed Management Group out of Tucson, Arizona.
